Dan and Tricia Phillips are both Illinois natives, Dan originally from
Springfield and Tricia from Danville. Their girls, Emily and Elizabeth, were born in South Charleston, West Virginia. Tricia holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling. Dan holds a Bachelor's Degree from Olivet Nazarene University and was ordained a minister in the Church of God during his most recent pastorate in South Charleston, West Virginia.
